Ryou ran down the long dark corridors of his Yami's soul room, trying to find the illusive door that was the spirits. He swore that the room was in a different spot each time he tried to look for it, but he couldn't be certain since all the hallways looked exactly the same. Also, it usually didn't take him this long to find it, but then again he was in a very emotional state at the moment.

He slowed down to a stop, panting heavily after running for who knows how long. He had taken off to find his Yami immediately after appearing in his own soul room, needing to see him as he had the sneaking suspicion that he wouldn't ever see the spirit again after tomorrow.

Ryou looked up, ready to start running again when he spotted it a couple doors down to his right. Stepped up to the door trying to compose himself as he thought of what Bakura had told him earlier before the other had closed off the mind link until Ryou had gone to bed. He blinked away his tears, wanting to stay strong because maybe he was misinterpreting what the spirit had said. He doubted it highly.

Just as he went to knock on the door, it opened to reveal the older white haired male. Bakura scanned his light, noting easily that the boy was upset. He stepped away from the door, letting him in without a word. He sat down somewhat carelessly on his couch and watched his Hikari, knowing exactly what made the boy so distressed. He waited for Ryou to say something, wanting the boy to admit it himself.

Ryou shut the door and sat down on the edge of spirit's bed, facing the other while the other watched him. Taking a deep breath Ryou asked, "Is it true?"

When the spirit merely stared at him, waiting for him to finish, Ryou took another deep breath to calm his nerves. "Why do you have to go?"

That was the question he had been waiting for his light to ask, but he had no idea how to answer it. "There isn't much either of us can do about it."

"I know that but…" he trailed off tears coming to his eyes as he thought about what would happen if his Yami went after Atem tomorrow. "He's going to end up killing you." With that statement the tears spilt over but he didn't turn away to hide his tears from his darker half.

Bakura got up to kneeled in front of his light and gently wiped at the boys tears. "I promised to avenge them, Ryou. This is the reason I became the spirit of the Millennium Ring. I have to do this."

"I know that!" Ryou sobbed burying his face into Bakura's chest. "I do. I just…I don't want go. I don't want you to die! I want…" He paused as a particularly violent sob caused his whole body to shudder. "…I want you stay. Please! Don't go!" He continued to weep into the spirit's chest.

Bakura stroked the boy's hair and wrapped his other arm around Ryou's waist, pulling his closer. As he tried to soothe the boy, Bakura couldn't help the expression of anger on his face at causing his light so much pain. He had never expected to care for the delicate boy in his arms when his light had first acquired the Millennium Ring. Never had he thought that anyone would care for him as his light did. He almost wished he didn't have to go through with his revenge, if only because his Hikari would be so hurt by it.

"Please…please…don't go…" Ryou pleaded his voice barely over a whisper. "…please…I love you…" Ryou looked up at Bakura, surprise on his face as tears slid down his cheeks. Bakura just stared at his light, unsure if he had heard the boy right.

"What?" managed to escape from the spirit's mouth.

Ryou looked away for a moment as if deciding what to say before looking back at his Yami. "I can't it anymore. I love you, Bakura."

Ryou twitched in shy nervousness as his darker half stared at his in what appeared to be shock. Bakura had never been told those words and he had never thought that anyone would ever love him again after his family had been killed. But this timid, little high school boy  not only cared for him, he worried about him, understood him, and…he loved him. In his shock he didn't realize that Ryou was letting his insecurities get the best of him.

"I-I'm sorry, Bakura. I know that you could never love someone like me, but-" Ryou was cut off by lips meeting his own.

His wide eyes took in that it was Bakura kissing him before he let his eyes close as he kissed back tentatively. Bakura nipped at the boy's lip, demanding entrance. He was rewarded with a slight gasp from the younger male and he entered the boy's mouth, exploring the wet cavern thoroughly. He pulled back slightly to look at the now blushing boy, a thin trail of saliva connected their mouths.

Ryou looked up at the spirit confusion now present.

"Ry."

"Yeah?"

"I do."

Shock passed over the boy's features. "Wh-what? H-how could you?"

Bakura tossed the boy a glare before speaking, "How could I not?" When the boy just blinked at him he explained. "You are care about me, you understand me, you worry about me. Nobody besides you has even tried to understand why I do what I'm doing."

Bakura cupped the boy's cheeks in his hands and pulled his light in for another kiss.

"How can I not love you?"
